It was a hot night in Bristol so the curiously dressed Rocky fans didn't look as out of place as back in 2013 when I last saw the tour on stage and it was freezing cold!
Diana Vickers' Janet and Richard Meek's Brad were very engaging, Richard's voice was particularly suited to the quieter numbers which came over exceptionaly well. Krisian Lavercombe's Riff Raff (who we also saw in 2013, he is now over 1,000 performances in!) is still delicious. Our Narrator was Norman Pace (of Hale & Pace amongst many other things) and he did an excellent job of orchestrating the audience (though were some of those shouts from the sound operators?). I confess I wasn't immediately won over by Laim Tamne's Frank-N-Furter but he got me in the end - playing it for (dirty) laughs he made it his own without stealing the show.
All in all an enjoyable production though the sound balance was a bit off (good job we all know the words) - I'd like to see it in a smaller venue sometime, more cabaret, less push ... but none the less a great night out.
p.s. the two women in front of us stood absolutely motionless during the Time Warp ... how did they manage that?!
