Margot Avery gives a stylish yet surprisingly gentle performance as Dorothy Parker offering her choice of works for a new publication. Annie Lux's play has her conferring with a junior editor and is really an excuse to revisit her best quips and poems. We also learn a lot of detail of the woman behind the sharpened tongue. With a classy set which Avery works calmly, it delivers on laughs, almost throwing away those classic one-liners.
