Set around Oxford University the play concerns "The Riot Club" a club for privileged, rich studentts who see it as their right to "run riot". Their previous exploits have had the club banned for two terms but now they are back in business and with two new members to welcome. To be honest this is more the sort of play I would expect to see at an AETF or NDFA amateur festival as it feels a little dated and simplistic but the large team (cast of 13) approached it with gusto and made for a mostly entertaining show.
There were some losses of pace which were unfortunate, this is not a play where you want your audience to have too much thinking time and the door simply would not stay shut (except when it stuck) but these issues could be ironed out. Sadly I had to leave before the end as they went up over 10 minutes late and I only had a 10 minute gap to get to my next play. Timing is important at festivals ...
