Not sure how much you’d enjoy this if you don’t know Trainspotting, but if you do, it indulgently ticks a range of boxes. Backstories are neatly filled and the key guys enjoy a new episode as their friendship rekindles. Jokes abound as long as you tune in to the accents. The old traits re-emerge though they have moved into a more sanitised middle age. That doesn’t stop them from being outrageous. Powerful characterisation and excellent comic timing all round. Their company could be addictive.
