I think it is fair to say that I am not the prime target audience for this show, and I didn't manage to have a 0 to 7 year old in tow, but given that, I had a whale (topical nautical reference) of a time!
This is a lively show full of fun, energy and audience participation with just enough adult (as in clever rather than smutty) jokes and references to keep the parents engaged without losing the kids - no mean feat.
Worth turning up a little early to enjoy the pre-show and get a good front-row position for your little one the show runs around the hour and involves you all in singing (with actions), dancing and being sailors. Perhaps 0-7 is pushing it, depending on how "sophisticated" your 7 year old thinks he or she is but the audience today were totally engaged throughout the show and even the adults applauded the delightful dancing jellyfish.
An excellent cast carry the show along with great pace and enthusiasm, how they maintain the energy I don't know. Tickets are selling fast (we couldn't get in again to take the grandchildren) but well worth trying for if you have some young ones to entertain over the Christmas period.
p.s. due to the refurbishment and redevelopment of the BoV this show is in the Lantern at Colston Hall, just over the road (and down a bit).
