A storyteller and a story. One of the oldest British stories to be recorded, from The Mabinogion, the tale of Bloduwedd is a sad one, created from flowers for a man cursed to never marry a woman of his species, she has an affair and is cursed by being turned to an owl. The story is beautifully told with space and background to allow us to explore some of the issues it raises in a more modern context. Was being turned to an owl really a curse? Who were the villains and were there really any heros? Most enjoyable, these are beautiful tales and deserve to be better known - this just shows that, as with all myths, they are better listened to than read.
