Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Pleasance Dome.
Thank Mahwaff! A show that is non-PC to a hilarious effect. Tracing the experiences of Yuri from arrival at London Stansted from unspecified European country, they make sharp political & social points while keeping the audience in constant waves of laughter. The 4 young men share the narrative and all characterisations with delightful enthusiasm. Ben Woolf has written & directed a splendid theatre experience – and given himself least and most as a performer. Alex Waldmann is coquettish, camp & vicious as the girlfriend. This is playful, creative, often downright silly – but a rapt audience sucked in every reference. This must be the fastest passing hour on the fringe. From the opening when the young men face the incoming audience, they exude the knowing confidence of performers in a flawless hit show.
