Details

This is part one of a three-part millennium project by The Noisy Planet Band, where three creation myths from around the world are re-created anew using music, words and visual theatre. Why Is The Sky So High is a Nigerian tale about why the sky, which originally provided food for all the people on the earth, was taken away. Musicians Mary Keith and Hugh Nankivell, along with writer Stephanie Bowgett and shadow puppeteer and mask maker Joe King will lead it. Everyone involved will make the music, songs, shadows, puppets and words from scratch and perform the piece at the end of the week. The performance will then be revived a month later for the BBC Music Live Festival. Age 8-18.
