After witnessing a fellow dancer s gradual loss of the ability to move, Lizabeth Goodman from the SmartLab Centre, London set out to discover ways that might augment performance capabilities for artists, disabled artists and people with disabilities. This led to the exciting development of technology that can create virtual puppetry through breath-sensors and other biotech systems, as a way for artists to have many new creative options available to them. In conjunction with SmartLab, we ve invited a group of professional theatre artists with disabilities to explore and create performance in a Virtual Reality Lab as part of the London-wide Xposure festival. They ll work for a week where creativity and technology will fuse: Artists who participate in this work may be contributing to things yet to appear in this world - come and see the results!!
