Details

Prototype: Experiments in Theatre is a fast- paced, informal event presenting you with up to six mini shows all in one evening. The shows are made by directors, writers, performers, devisers, puppeteers and musicians from Bristol and further afield who want to test their ideas out before they make full length shows. It is a great way to see a huge range of theatrical styles in just one evening and to see just how much talent is out there. Some shows are very funny, some are strange, some are highly polished and some are rather more spontaneous, but there is always something a bit special that stays with you. Everyone is welcome - either to sit back and enjoy the shows only or to also join the artists at a question and answer session at the end of the night where we discuss what worked and what didn’t. Over a glass of wine, of course. Prototype is Tobacco Factory Theatre and Theatre Bristol’s forum for the development of work. CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
