Heydays, Calder Valley Performance Ensemble, Citizens' Orchestra. A beautiful, evocative performance installation with music, singing and dancing. Created by professional theatre practitioners with local performers aged over 55, this quirky dance hall will shimmer with joy in the re-telling of real stories from across the rural communities of the Calder Valley and the urban landscape of Leeds. Devised and Directed by Alan Lyddiard. Designed by Neil Murray. Alan and Neil have worked together for over 30 years and are no strangers to West Yorkshire Playhouse. Neil has designed many productions including 'Steptoe & Son' and 'Threepenny Opera' - Alan work at WYP includes 'Animal Farm' and 'Homage to Catalonia'. Together they are creating a new company, specifically for performers over the age of 55, working in the space between community, amateur and professional arts practise and creating contemporary theatre for audiences of all ages.
