Class Act - Ukraine in Scotland

Work:: Class Act (S01271336733)

Production:: Ukraine in Scotland (T388767998)

Welcome to Class Act Ukraine in Scotland! Here, students are transformed into storytellers. They will receive creative support and a safe space to express themselves and imagine without inhibition. Their stories are what they feel passionate about and they decide which are the ones to tell. This special edition of Class Act builds upon the longstanding relationships between the Traverse and three acclaimed international playwrights – Natalya Vorozhbyt, Nicola McCartney, and Sara Shaarawi – to work with Ukrainian young people currently living in Scotland to unlock their creative talent and potential, with the support of the University of Edinburgh. Each script will be brought to life by a team of professional theatre-makers including directors, actors, and musicians to tell these urgent stories and celebrate the voices of the young people of Ukraine. Come and see the power of storytelling in action, as Class Act brings another cohort of young people together and amplifies a unique and important voice in our community.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
