Write to Play will present an evening with playwright Rebecca Lenkiewicz on Wednesday 8 April at 9.30pm at Trafalgar Studios. The evening will start with a discussion with Rebecca about her career and work before volunteers read from her new play, never seen or heard in the UK before. The evening will end with a discussion with Rebecca about her themes, styles and methods of writing. Born in Plymouth and training originally as an actor, Rebecca Lenkiewicz focuses frequently on her own experiences in her work but also possesses a fearless attitude towards history. Plays include: The Night Season (Cottesloe/National Theatre, 2004); Shoreditch Madonna (Soho Theatre, 2005); The Soldier’s Tale (Old Vic, 2006); Her Naked Skin (Olivier, National Theatre, 2008) Write to Play focuses on one prolific playwright bi-monthly, changing venues each time and striving to give audiences the opportunity to engage with playwrights. This evening marks the fourth in the series.
