Rakugo is a 400 year old traditional Japanese art form that can be best described as Japanese sit-down comedy of comic story telling. Just as there is stand-up comedy in western countries, there is sit-down comedy in Japan. The first part of the show combines Ventriloquism with the traditional Japanese art form of Rakugo. Featuring Japanese puppet Ken, Showko twists the ancient east and modern west into a unique comic show. The last part of the show plays tribute to the story telling of Hans Christian Anderson with a Japanese inspired version of 'The Emperors New Clothes . Having played at the Little Angel Theatre in London, this interpretation encourages children to use their imagination to create the appearance and setting for the characters
