One of Britain's finest poets Andrew Motion will be reading from his stunning new collection of poems, The Custom House. The Customs House is in three sections, and opens with a sequence of war poems, Laurels and Donkeys, which draws on soldiers' experiences, from the First and Second World war through to the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Andrew Motion also reads from The Cinder Path (Faber), shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry, and answers questions about his writing and the role of Poet Laureate. This event will be followed by a book signing.
