The date is 1916 and the venue ominous...'the restaurant at the end of the world'. It is packed, but the table to watch is the one in the corner where Reginald, Hector and Saki are seated. On this strange night, at the height of an apocalyptic war, there is some personal reckoning to be done and one of the three will have to make the ultimate sacrifice...or will they? HH Munro, (aka Saki) is best known for his darkly comic short stories. It is said that what Oscar Wilde was to drama, Saki was to prose - both were masters of the crushing, put-down phrase adding to sarcasm their own particular blend of perverse and ironic humour.
