Where Did I Leave My Purdah

Work:: Where Did I Leave My Purdah (S1622497811)

A comic drama infused with love, passion, denial humour and grief based on the life and times of an actress who saw the world in her art, but ignored the harsh realities of the real world outside. The play is set against the famed company theatres that performed dance dramas through the 1950s until the 1980s. Nazia is an actress who has been through four decades of performance and seven decades pf personal travails and political upheavals. The play traces her personal and professional journey and her relationships with those closest to her. A fascinating look into the world of drama and theatre, the play moves between the past, the partition of India and the musical productions of yesteryear to the contemporary world of cinema and stage today.
