A small crowd gathers to get a glimpse of the star on stage, but the girl at stage-door has more exciting things in mind for the audience...... Join her for an extraordinary show in one of Brighton's most iconic theatres. What is it about that night is an intimate live music and theatrical performance from singer Catherine Ireton (Belle and Sebastian, Treasure Tracks, God Help the Girl, Go Away Birds) in collaboration with Root Experience Theatre Company. The haunting, humorous and emotive stories in the singer's songs will be brought to life in various locations in the Theatre Royal Brighton, which are normally hidden and inaccessible to the public and deep inside the depths of the building. The inspiration for the piece also comes from Ireton's experience during Edinburgh Festival where she was tasked with locking up the old Kings Theatre every night, slowly walking the corridors of the dressing rooms backstage with a torch turning off the lights one by one by one and locking the doors with her mind wandering to the consideration of the magic of an empty theatre.
