We're Strangers Here archiveA comedy about two couples who meet at a Spanish hotel on holiday in the 1960s. David Pearce has just lost his job, and decides to blow some of his redundancy money on an exotic foreign holiday. His mistrusting wife Amy is unimpressed by his glib tongue as David talks up the carefree life. Also staying at the hotel are Robert and Linda Cochrane. Robert is a successful businessman whose jingoistic beliefs have led to a strong dislike of all foreigners, while his more vivacious wife's temperament has been dulled by years of unhappy marriage. David and Linda immediately fall for one another, as they seek to fill the void in their empty marriages. Before long, they decide to leave together on their own holiday, but will they have the nerve to see their plans through? A delightful period comedy.
