Welcome to Gaza - Staged Reading

Work:: Welcome to Gaza (S1653831035)

Production:: Staged Reading (T121120928)

Welcome to Gaza has arisen from years of work by the Hands Up Project with children and young people in Gaza. It is a compilation of moving, beautiful and often funny scripts, written by teenagers in the West Bank, framed by a narrative conceived by our Playwright in Residence, Peter Oswald. Welcome to Gaza was begun before the current tragedy in Israel and Palestine but also incorporates new and direct responses to it. It speaks to the suffering and resilience of the Palestinian people in our times and over many decades. Please join us to hear it spoken aloud by a company of professional actors, including Dame Harriet Walter, all giving their time free of charge. We are not charging for tickets. However, we will be taking donations for the Hands Up Project on the night. For more information about the Hands Up Project, please visit: www.handsupproject.org

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
