Details
Based on a true story. In 1750, Hannah Snell, disguised as a boy, goes to sea in search of her errant husband. For 7 years she lives as a man, boldly braving bloody battle and her own troubling visions. Back home, wounded, penniless and a woman again, she takes to the stage. But her visions force her to publicly proclaim the horrors of war, and she finds herself imprisoned in Bedlam. Will she die alone and forgotten, branded as a lunatic? Or will she escape and find life and freedom?
