Wanted Dead or Alive archiveOsama Bin Laden is alive and well a suicide bomb strapped around his waist playing Father Christmas to unsuspecting American children in a shopping mall. In arguably the season's most shocking and controversial play, award-winning playwright Andrew Dallmeyer plays the world's most wanted man. Railing against the make-up and hypocrisy of the American Dream, Wanted Dead and Alive focuses on the fall out from the events of September 11, questions how US foreign policy and US interests may have led to the atrocity and explores just what drives people to commit unspeakable acts of violence. It neither justifies nor glorifies the violent attack on the US but poses the question who exactly is retaliating against whom? But why Santa? The similarities between Father Christmas and Osama Bin Laden are pronounced. Bin Laden is a bearded man renowned for living in a cave, whose reputation is mythical and who raises debate about whether or not he lives today. He is also one of the most wanted men in the world. Father Christmas is a bearded man renowned for living in a grotto, whose reputation is mythical and who raises debate about whether or not he lives today. As December 25th approaches he too is one of the most wanted men in the world. Santa is an anagram for Satan. Osama Bin Laden is an anagram for A damn Noel Bias.
