Marina and Alberto Verani have been happily married for twenty years, but Marina is becoming a little bored. Alberto thinks his charms are fading and to reassure himself he decides to pay court to the disirable Countess Arduini by sending her a bouquet of two dozen red roses. But the plan backfires when Marina discovers the roses and assumes that they have arrived for her form a secret admirer. On discovering the mix up Alberto decides to use it to his advantage and test his wife's loyalty to him by courting her anonymously with love letters and flowers.. Would she betray her husband for another man?
