To You, The Birdie (Phedre) archiveBased on Paul Schmidt's translation of Racine's Phedre. To You, The Birdie splices Racine's tragedy of violent passions and moral crisis with a movement language mixing the choreographic styles of Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham with the sport of badminton. The result is a soap opera of windows and reflections, confessions and confrontations set in a mobile landscape of tracks, sliding panels and omnipresent monitors and cameras.
