The WYT Millennium Show archiveThe Timeaway Tree Fri evening and Sat matinee. Punk Fever Sat matinee and Sat evening. A Jolly Exciting Story in Worthing Fri and Sat evening. This years production has been supported by a Worthing Borough council Make a Difference grant and Connaught Theatre Club. WYT have collected memories of Worthing from local people, who were asked to recollect what it was like when they were young. The three plays will be performed over two days in repertoire, and although they are separate shows, their common link is these memories of Worthing in the past. A Jolly Exciting Story in Worthing is a school story set in Worthing of the 1930's, the days of gymslips and bloomers! Devised by the senior group, with thanks to the members of the Connaught Theatre Club for their wonderfully vivid recollections. Punk Fever, performed by the second intermediate group (11-14 years) is a lively look at the rivalry and revelry of the 1970's, based in Worthing. Devised by the group and written by Caroline Bean, who also wrote The Timeaway Tree, based loosely on the characters from Enid Blyton's Faraway Tree. Performed by the Junior and First Intermediate groups.
