A young blind woman awaits the arrival of the old blind man to whom she is betrothed. "What is bride but the apotheosis of delay...?" On appearing he initiates a duel of deception stretching the pleasures of anticipation to their breaking point. An archaeology of strategy, evasion, refuge, the artificialities of desire and agonised devotion, wound more tightly than a spring. This is a pas de deux at the melting point of surface and depth. parody is reverence for the irrational, and underwear becomes a poem. "Our passion was never susceptible to truth..." Contains explicit scenes and strong language.
