The Sun Also Rises, Ernest Hemingway's first major novel, follows a group of weary, aimless and frequently inebriated American expatriates searching for identity, redemption and diversion in Europe. Told with spare and tightly written prose, Hemingway's story winds its way through France and Spain and lands in Pamplona where bullfighting and the fiesta rage in the streets.
