The Rain Has Voices archiveIt is midsummer... There is incessant rain... A major flood threatens a remote village... As the water rises the land releases memories locked within its layers... Voices whisper from the past. In Harrow Bridge Thomas Fear prepares to stay, despite the evacuation of the village, and the efforts of his son Simon to persuade him to leave. Nearby, newcomer Deborah Wallis continues to restore her grandfather's dairy as she strives to create a future for herself, and 80 year old Sarah Vowles is waiting for the child that was taken from her sixty years ago to return. Meanwhile a teenage runaway hovers around the village...
