The Pool archiveDavid's an old romantic. A boozy romp at a Euston B&B and he thinks he's found the love of his life. Twelve hours later he's broke, birdless and bunking in a Liverpool doorway. With only a couple of quid to his name he heads for the bookies to try his luck on the horses. Tina's worked there forever and not much can phase her. Until, that is, David tries his luck on her. What follows is a day spent in Liverpool, cutting loose, wagging work and seeing the sights. Against the backdrop of the city, two strangers from different worlds find common ground. Welcome to The Pool - a play packed with poetry as well as prose, about family, future and learning to have fun.
