Following on from the internationally acclaimed Millennium Mysteries, The Mysteries 2003 is a co-production between one of Ireland's most famous theatre companies, Macnas and the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. Working together with 100 local people this contemporary production is based on Coventry's medieval Mystery Play and is set in the magnificent setting of Coventry Cathedral Ruins. The Mysteries 2003 weaves together the story of the life and death of Jesus Christ with Old Testament stories, drawing on the surviving fragment of the original Coventry Mystery play, The Pageant of the Shearmenand Taylors.Other listings | |
