The Mortal Ash archiveThe Wheatley's are the family on the estate that no-one talks to but everybody talks about. The aviary has been smashed to smithereens and the kids are throwing stones at him again but nothing is going to spoil today, because today is Duane Wheatley's seventeenth birthday. The family are getting together to help celebrate. Eric won't be able to come but mum has set a place for him anyway. Everyone is looking forward to the party and so they should, the Wheatley's don't have much to celebrate, not since the accident at the Mortal Ash... Richard Cameron's insightful play celebrates the courage and love shown by a family as they stand together against their own community.
