The Mission archiveIt is 1920. The war may be over but a new crisis is unfolding. A crisis which is kept secret. In the leafy suburbs, Britain's richest couples face the prospect of heirless futures as the trauma of the war has left men barren. The Mission, an illegal adoption home where the poor bring their young and the rich take them away. Only no-one must know. Not friends, not family, not even the child. For, in a society where the stain of working class blood is an unbearable tarnish, exposure would be unthinkable. Imagine if someone found out...
