The London Jungle Book archiveThe London Jungle Book, by Indian Gond tribal artist Bhajju Shyam, leaps from the pages into a live theatrical event with actor-animators, musicians, spellbinding designs and kinetic props. In this extraordinary travelogue, London metamorphoses into a fantastical jungle-like place inhabited by some bizarre creatures and customs - London buses morph into dogs, Big Ben doubles as a cockerel, and tube trains burrow like purposeful worms. Shyam's playful take on London has been likened to reversing Kipling's gaze on India. The performance is a work-in-progress collaboration bringing together students from E15 Acting School, musicians and Elephant Cast Theatre Company, supported by the National Theatre Studio.
