Work:: The Lasses, O (S0197833123)
Award-winning poet, author and playwright, Janet Paisley's new play gives us the stories of five women and the poet's life, ranging from the midwife who delivered him on a stormy January night, to the young neighbour who nursed him on his deathbed. In a theatrical tour de force, the award-winning Scots actress Gerda Stevenson plays all five women. The stories are interwoven with music and song from a trio of versatile and talented musicians, including two members of the up-and-coming band 'The Shee', Rachel Newton and Lillias Kinsman-Blake. The production is designed by Jessica Brettle and directed by one of Scotland's finest directors, Gerry Mulgrew.
