The Iron Lion Lounge - Family Jewels archive"Somewhere in the 70's, Cartman Fontaine is pissed off. His PA, Buggsy is a chirpy, enthusiastic disaster who brings Cartman down every time he has to look at him. He'd fire him but the kid's uncle owns the joint. Lady Garden, his three-times ex-wife is nowhere to be seen, and he's not sure that isn't a very good thing. As for Aaron Rivers... well he'd fire him too if the silly bastard wasn't up to his eyeballs in debt to the Casino and only avoided prison by agreeing to work it off. All in all things are pretty normal for Cartman as he prepares to introduce another sideways-eclectic musical comedy revue at The Iron Lion Lounge. In fact there's only one thing he can be sure of. Before the end of tongiht's show... something's going to go wrong."The Iron Lion Lounge is a brand new monthly theatre show set in the spoof-cabaret world of chintzy, 70’s-era Las Vegas. Karl Sedgwick plays Cartman Fontaine, the show’s beleaguered compere who faces a nightly struggle to get through his calamitous array of half-baked acts. Aaron Rivers (Sam Devereaux) is The Lounge’s resident washed up Rock Star who along with the ever-naïve Stage Manager, Buggsy (Mat Ruttle) and Cartman’s three-times ex-wife Lady Garden (Rachel Esposti) conspire to make Cartman’s night as disastrous as it is hilarious. This month’s original show, Family Jewels sees Cartman’s very life put in peril by the emergence of a local Mafia Godfather who, "following Mr. Fontaine’s spectacular gambling losses, has decided to take immediate payment of his debt." Guest Stars this month include: Jim Devereaux as “The Don” and Sean Douglas as “Angel Hair”. Support acts are singers Lisa Raynsford and Glenn Hodge and dancer Suzanne McMillan.
