A comic drama about adolescent schoolboys. A group of bright, funny sixth-form boys in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university. A maverick English teacher at odds with the young and shrewd supply teacher. A headmaster obsessed with results, and a history teacher who thinks he's a fool.

Running time: 2hrs 45mins. The production features performances from some of the UK’s hottest stars of tomorrow. William Merrick (Posner) is currently filming the next series of 'Skins' for Channel 4, and five of the cast are members of the National Youth Theatre, including leads James Evans (Scripps), Cameron Chapman (Rudge), and Merrick. The 2010 cast of The History Boys share an array of staggering accomplishments. Several of the cast are, or have been, in the process of actually trying to get into Oxbridge, and James Evans (Scripps) will be studying Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Jesus College, Cambridge from October. Close Up has now been performing at the Fringe for six years and has a well-established reputation, with loyal and appreciative audiences. They have been awarded the elite "Sell-Out" status every year.
