Details

The Deluge archiveThe Deluge concerns four characters trapped during a flood in 19th century Denmark, and is drawn from a story by Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen), author of Out of Africa and Babette's Feast. With a biting wit and a love of the unexpected, Blixen's 'masquerade' creates a unique form of theatre, which demonstrates to the full the dramatic power of story-telling. The audience accompanies the characters on a journey in which they unearth disturbing secrets, and live through a lifetime's experience in a single night. It captivated audiences at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival.
