The Christmas Truce

Work:: The Christmas Truce (S02114435703)

1914. The Western Front. The cold of winter sets into the trenches amidst the worst war the world has ever seen. The soldiers on both sides huddle in their trench-coats to wait out the night and hope tomorrow brings a brief respite. Silence descends on the trenches and belief hangs in the air. As goodwill and Christmas cheer spreads from man to man, from trench to trench, something magical starts to happen and the enemies soon realise that they have more in common then they could ever imagine.
Author Carol Ann Duffy
Adapted by Thomas Moore
