Set during World War II, Herman Wouk enlarged on the Court Martial aspect of The Caine Mutiny, a very popular war film in its own right. Lieutenant Maryk is charged with mutiny for relieving Captain Queeg of his command of the ship during a typhoon on the grounds that the Captain s behaviour was out of control, that he was sick and unable to carry out his duties efficiently. The court martial encompasses the evidence of members of the crew, medical and other experts to the point where we are left wondering who is on trial, Lieutenant Maryk or Captain Queeg. Pegeen Coleman directs the 16 strong all male cast including Mike Foley, Neil Hogan, Paul Thornton, Colm O Maolmhuire, Niall Andrews, Ian McColgan, Michael Barry, Frank Cowan and Declan Kidd.
