Unexpectedly cast out into the world, an innocent encounters a succession of would-be surrogates, each keen to take him in - but for their own, sometimes suspicious reasons. Fusing together a number of well-known (and some lesser known) fairy stories, Michael Wynne's creation conjures up some provocative magic in a modern gothic tale of good and evil. Not suitable for people under 14 years.
