The Audition is a concept that knocks the socks off Big Brother and Pop Idol. Members of the public get the chance to perform in a wickedly original play - but only after they get through the Audition. Hosted by Ms Motormouth herself, Edwina McShouty (a classy lady, who models herself on Maggie Thatcher and Bamby), wannabe actors are given the chance to pit their acting skills in front of The Panel, who have to decide within 45 minutes who is hot and who is not. Winners go through to the Grand Finale, which is a chance to perform a real play in one of Edinburgh's top venues. Throughout
The Audition, the actors nominate the their fellow performers for eviction, in a secret ballot, and the audience then vote to evict the contestants - one at a time. With frequent trips to the Ranting Room, and live backstage video scenes, the tension mounts as the panel sets the hopefuls a series of tasks that end up with hilarious consequences.
