Tere Mere Nakhry uses humour and drama to elaborate the issues of domestic violence, female harassment, child abuse, discrimination and the conflict of identity that her family faces. The story centres on Mrs Shamim and her family when she remarries following the death of her husband and father to two sons and two daughters, whom are British nationals. Her elder son Ahsan got married with his office colleague Sobia, a marriage of love rather than arranged. They enjoy life living like the British, while Mrs. Shamim's family lives a traditional Asian life style.
