Techniques of Breathing in an Airlocked Space archiveNadia is dying of cancer and spends her days dreaming in books. She befriends a rather odd 'beetle' of a man, but can he help her to face her past and find meaning in her life? Moshina's play asks the question: how do people survive in stifling personal, social and political situations, how do they overcome seemingly impossible obstacles? The story is an allegory for modern-day Russia - which is laid bare as an increasingly undemocratic democracy. The play is dark but also very funny.
