Tales from Charles Dickens archiveThe work of one of the world's greatest and most popular writers Charles Dickens is being celebrated with an event in a city he claimed his favourite after London, and performed in a hall he described as the most perfect hall in the world. The team that bought you the sell-out ?Tales From Haunted Liverpool' series return with Tales From Charles Dickens featuring excerpts from Dickens most popular family tales including Oliver, Great Expectations and Hard Times on 12 & 13 April at St George's Concert Room. The performances will form part of Dickens 2012, an international celebration of the life and work of Charles Dickens marking the bicentenary of his birth, which falls on 7 February 2012. Institutions and organisations from all over the world are partners of Dickens 2012 all of whom are working together to deliver a programme of events and activities to commemorate this very special anniversary. The Liverpool events will take place in a setting much loved by Dickens himself, the Concert Room at St George's Hall.
