Stories for Survival archiveSherry has a collection of Middle Eastern mementos given to her by her grandfather, a poet. As she pick over the items she remembers her childhood and the stories he told her from the Arabian Nights and as she remembers they begin to come to life before our eyes. In this re-telling of those tales, set in locations ranging from contemporary to classic and UK to middle and the far east, fantastic characters are met and moving stories told. The well-known tales of Sinbad, Aladdin, and Ali Baba sit alongside the less read Sympathy the Learned, The Blind Beggar and Princess Badoura. Using dance and music with physical theatre and dramatic storytelling, young people present a selection of stories over a week.
