Alice is becoming increasingly frail and her children use the occasion to attempt to persuade her to move into a home. Alice, however, has other plans...As the battle rage overhead Alice's consciousness drifts, time shifts - and past and present merge. The result is a wonderfully skilful distillation of a family, So Long Life casts a flickering glance back across the 20th century through the lives of six wayward individuals.
