In an old Victorian house in downtown Toronto, six 20-somethings seek sanctuary from the pressures of the working world amid the darkened corridors, attic rooms and creaking stairs. Daydreams real of fame, happiness and clear skin are constantly interrupted by the insidious lure of the porn industry - with instant gratification now available on-line. The money barely covers the drugs and the clubs, and the overdue rent is mounting up. When Corbett accepts a live snake in lieu of a drug debt things really slide out of control. Who is the middle-aged man who arrives looking for a room? Is he stalking Caddie and her sister Donna? Does Donna really see ghosts? And why can no one find Gabriel? As the lights flicker and fail and strange sounds emanate from below, the body count begins to rise. Don't, whatever you do, go down to the basement alone. Brad Fraser returns to the territory of his award-winning Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love to produce this gothic horror for the 21st century, in a play that will make you laugh, cry and be very afraid of the dark. This production will contain explicit scenes and strong language.
