Shotton archiveIn 1979 a massive run-down at the Shotton site meant thousands of steelworkers faced the devastating prospect of impending redundancy. The situation was compounded by a three-month national steel strike, and many who left at Christmas were never to return to work at Shotton. Some would never work again.
