Shakespeare's Clown archiven 1599, Will Kemp, the most popular entertainer of his day, left Shakespeare's company under a cloud. Nobody knows why. In 1600, he morris-danced from London to Norwich. It was a spectacular popular success. In 1601, he morris-danced from London to Rome. It was a disaster. By 1603, he was dead, buried in a pauper's grave. Fringe First nominated Strange Bedfellows will be in residence at the Ustinov as part of the Theatre Lab artist development programme. Exploring ideas about the extraordinary and tragic life story of one of history's most magnificent comic entertainers, the company presents a 30 minute extract of their work in progress.
