Salvador archiveFusion of African, European and Brazilian history told through the lives of a gay couple and their two lesbian friends. It is set in Salvador the ancient capital of Brazil, where slavery continued until 1888, a city alive with contrasts and its own unique spirituality. Here the four characters, Katia and her lover, Ana stay at their friends, Macros and Joao's flat. Ana's longing for a child finds its counterpart in Joao and the two women decide that Ana should have a baby with one of their two friends as the father. Thoughout the pregnancy Katia and Ana turn to the Maede-Santo, the priestess of the Candomble religion, for guidance. But there are tragic consequences when the couple do not respond to their spirit-guide advice.
